Sophie Dobson, Specialist Paralegal (left)
Sophie has a Specialist Paralegal Qualification in Wills, Trusts and Executries from the University of Strathclyde and is a member of the Society of Specialist Paralegals. She has experience in a variety of matters including executry and trust adminstration, wills, adults with incapacity and community care. She provides advice and assistance to families and professionals on 'planning for the future' and presents regularly on this topic.
Nicola Smith, Solicitor (right)
Nicola qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and has been helping families plan for the future for the last 14 years. She can help with wills, trusts, guardianship applications, powers of attorney, adult protection and community care. She is a member of the Law Society's sub committee on mental health and disability and co-wrote Adult Protection and the Law in Scotland (Bloomsbury Professional) (2015 Second Edition).
Iain Nisbet, Consultant Solicitor (not pictured)
Iain is a specialist in the field of education law, with particular expertise and interest in additional support needs law, equality law in education and Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC). He is the principal author of “A-Z of Scots Education Law - A guide for parents” (Consumer Focus Scotland). He is the Convener of the School Closure Review Panels, and a former non-executive director with Education Scotland.
Ranked within Band 1 in the Education (Individuals) category for the UK, Chambers UK 2016 notes: "Peers laud him as 'a fount of knowledge in all matters with regard to education law. He is patient, sympathetic and very good with the parents who seek his advice about their disabled children.'"
